Yellow Carnation 1/13
The superficial layers of myself,
The ones that interact with the world,
Are easily spread like the outer petals of this yellow carnation.
I can be anything to anybody.
But, close to my center, my essence,
The layers are tighter, thicker, protective.
Like the yellow carnation, the colors of the center are not visible.
But, if you wish to find them,
A gentle peeling back of the layers will reveal the surprising beauty within.
